Pupils help design new school sign

Thurso High Parent Council asked pupils to help design a new school sign and working in art classes students created their designs, which were then judged by Parent Council member and local architect Neil McDonald. Three designs, by Rhiannon Mackay, S2, Olivia Warner, S3 and Steven Thomson, S3 were selected and Mr McDonald presented first prize to Steven with Rhiannon and Olivia joint second. The hope is to combine elements of their designs into the finished sign; the pupils are also to be involved in selecting the Caithness stone which is to form an integral part of the sign.
