Further to my previous email in March, I am pleased to advise that the closing date for the Mackay Scholarship has been extended to 18th June 2020. There will be one Mackay Scholarship available for students commencing undergraduate studies at the University of Aberdeen in September 2020. The criteria of the scholarship is:
The Mackay Scholarship
The scholarship is valued at £1,200 per annum and will be awarded to a student from Farr High School, Kinlochbervie High School, Thurso High School, Wick High School, Alness Academy, Dornoch Academy, Gairloch HS, Golspie HS, Ullapool HS, Nicolson Inst., Kirkwall Grammar School, Stromness Academy, Anderson HS, Brae HS, Castlebay School, Sgoil Lioncleit or Sir E Scott School. The scholarship is for students who meet specific Widening Participation criteria and/or who also demonstrate financial need. Depending on the length of the course, the successful recipient will therefore receive between £3,600 and £6,000 to help support them during their studies.
I attach some further information on the scholarship. We are keen to ensure that the school knows about this scholarship and would appreciate it if you could let the appropriate students know about it and encourage them to apply.
In addition to the above, the University of Aberdeen offers a range of scholarships to help support new undergraduates starting at the university in September.
