Maths Masterclasses

Thurso High are allowed to select up to four students to attend Maths masterclasses delivered by Edinburgh University which took place over 6 Saturday’s during the months of February and March.

Below is the comment of one of the attendees.

The maths masterclasses were a great experience that showed many uses of maths and the opportunities there are for a career in maths.

There were three online classes and three classes which you could attend, in person, at the university of Edinburgh.

I believe that the masterclasses were a great thing to do for those who are interested in maths. We were shown practical uses which you might not have known was a part of maths.

We were taught by maths professors at the university and it gave me a feel of how a university would be like .
